چکیده

We have studied two specific models of frustrated and disordered coupled Kuramoto oscillators, all driven with the same natural frequency, in the presence of random external pinning fields. Our models are structurally similar, but differ in their degree of bond frustration and in their finite size ground state properties (one has random ferroand anti-ferromagnetic interactions and the other has random chiral interactions). We have calculated the equilibrium properties of both models in the thermodynamic limit using the replica method, with emphasis on the role played by symmetries of the pinning field distribution, leading to explicit predictions for observables, transitions and phase diagrams. For absent pinning fields our two models are found to behave identically, but pinning fields (provided with appropriate statistical properties) break this symmetry. Simulation data lend satisfactory support to our theoretical predictions. PACS numbers: 75.10.Nr, 05.20.−y, 64.60.Cn

Synchronization of Diffusively Coupled Electronic Hindmarsh-rose Oscillators

In this paper we study the synchronization of diffusively coupled Hindmarsh-Rose (HR) electronic oscillators. These electronic oscillators are analog electrical circuits which integrate the differential equations of the HR model. An experimental setup consisting of four chaotic HR oscillators, is used to evaluate the existence and stability of partially or fully synchronized states.

Acceleration effect caused by the Onsager reaction term in a frustrated coupled oscillator system

The Onsager reaction term is one of the most important notions for frustrated random systems. The role of the Onsager reaction term, however, has not been properly elucidated for non-equilibrium random systems with large degrees of freedoms. By analyzing oscillator associative memory models involving two types of diluted couplings, we make clear that the acceleration (deceleration) effect is ca...

A Phase Noise Reduction Technique in LC Cross-coupled Oscillators with Adjusting Transistors Operating Regions

In this paper, an intuitive analysis of a phase noise reduction technique is done, and then a modified structure is proposed to achieve higher phase noise reduction than the original one. This method reduces the impact of noise sources on the phase noise by decreasing closed-loop gain in zero-crossings points and moving this high closed-loop gain to the non-zero-crossings points. This reduction...

Positional Disorder in the Fully Frustrated Josephson Junction Array: Random Gaussian Phase Shifts in the Fully Frustrated 2D XY Model

We consider the effect of positional disorder on a Josephson junction array with an applied magnetic field of f 1 2 flux quantum per unit cell. This is equivalent to the problem of random Gaussian phase shifts in the fully frustrated 2D XY model. Using simple analytical arguments and numerical simulations, we present evidence that the ground state vortex lattice of the pure model becomes disord...

Unified phase diagram for the three-dimensional XY model of a point-disordered type-II superconductor

We carry out extensive Monte Carlo simulations of the three-dimensional uniformly frustrated XY model with uncorrelated randomly perturbed couplings, as a model for the equilibrium behavior of an extreme type-II superconductor with quenched uncorrelated random point vortex pinning, in the presence of a uniform applied magnetic field. We map out the resulting phase diagram as a function of tempe...
